Our Activities

The Orchid Walk is one of the biggest events that we have organized every year since 2003 under the 'Şensev Project'. The trek traditionally takes place between Kozanköy and Karşıyaka in the last week of February. We have arranged bus services from Nicosia, Kyrenia, Famagusta, and Güzelyurt to enable all our community to participate in the event. In addition to snacks and T-shirts provided by our sponsors, we also offer coffee to the participants at the end of the walk. Music and dance performances take place at the endpoint. Finally, we respect the memory of our beloved ones who lost the battle against cancer by holding hands and singing the song, "You will never walk alone", the anthem of the event. In recent years, it has become a hotly anticipatedand popularactivity with over 1000 participants. The contribution of a wide-ranging social responsibility project by our main sponsors is to increase consumer awareness towards the company So far, the event, with the support of big companies such as THY and Telsim, has helped develop the image and reliability of Cancer Research Foundation (CRF). In recent years, big companies have been offering CRF tenders to become the Main Sponsor of the Orchid Walk.

What is Morning Coffee?
The purpose is to meet with your friends in your home or in certain cafes, have a good time, drinking coffee and chatting and learning more about the subject determined by our Foundation that day. In the meantime, everyone makes their own donation. Then they return their home happily.

We begin with the slogan 'Let's drink the first coffee of the season together, let's be one heart together with CRF’ in the fight against cancer. The first event that we intended to be the biggest Morning Coffee event in TRNC was held on Saturday, June 1, 2013 under the sponsorship of Özerlat Kahve and Rana Fahrioğlu Import Export Company. At the event, which was held with the call of “Gather your friends and family at your home on June 1 at 10 am and support CRF while drinking coffee together”, the participants of the Morning Coffee leave donations to the recyclable piggy bank provided by CRF. These donations are used for detailed soil analysis in regions where cancer cases are the most common in the TRNC. Within the scope of the event held on the first Saturday of each season, it is hoped to raise awareness about cancer, initiate recycling, and increase information sharing on these issues by drinking morning coffee with loved ones in their homes. The Morning Coffee event is also held in various cafes. Some of the income of customers who receive service in contracted cafes is donated to CRF.

The entrance fee and booth fees are donated to the foundation. The host company opens the booth and sells it itself.

The Parkeology project for children has been taking place in May every year since 2013. This project is a joint project with expert archaeologists Demet Karşılı, other expert archaeologists, and the CRF. The project is versatile and teaches children to live in a beautiful environment with both its historical richness and natural beauty. Thanks to Kızılay, which has given us great support every year, as wellas the people and organizations that have sponsored and supported us until now. Due to the increasing demand every year, the necessary number of people and organizations are looking to increase the number of participants and to be more comprehensive. Thank you for your support and interest. Aim The aim is to make our children feel as a whole with each hand that helps and to try to convey being sensitive to themselves and their environment. 2 of the children who will attend the event are selected from Çağlayan kindergarten. After the event, the children are asked to draw pictures describing that day, and then the exhibition is organized and the pictures are exhibited and sold publicly.

Due to the cancer week; either donation, from the sale of 80,000 “anti-cancer” postage stamps printed by the postal office between 1st of April – 30th of April, 2015 or the stamps printed on the postal mails were transferred to the CRF.
